Ms GAY & Ms TS Australia Pageant started as an annual alternative beauty pageant for gay men, crossdressers, drag queens and, transsexuals. The pageant which started with humble beginnings in 2009 has since grown in proportion and presence. …T

This pageant embraces diversity in the LGBTI community and provides a safe space for people-like-us (…PLUs) to share our beauty and showcase our talents to the general audience.

The pageant now sees more nation-wide representatives and winners from past years have gained great exposure from the pageant as they were given opportunities to perform in the many popular clubs in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and be part of other causes in their local communities. Many are now established personalities and performers. These winners have also been given much exposure in their respective local, national and international media.

MS GAY & MS TS AUSTRALIA 2011 CROWNED !!!

The constant rain and flooding did not stop Melbourne as they crowned aBrisbane based pageant queen, Chinta Woo-Allcock as MS GAY AUSTRALIA 2011 and CHRISY LICAROS, a transexual working in a famous hotel in Melbourne as MS TRANSEXUAL AUSTRALIA during a well attended pageant on February 5, 2011 in Yarraville Club, Melbourne.

Fifteen candidates from all over Australia battled it out for the two crowns with their stunning costumes, talent, fierce attitude, wit and cheeky humour, but there were only two queens to be crowned during the night.

Chinta Woo-Allcock, bested all the candidates in the gown, casual wear and talent competition. All time favorite and pageant queen veteran, Gabriella Mendoza, ended up first runner up.

Chrizy Licaros, a 24 year old hotel attendant, wowed the judges with her catwalk and dancing skills.

On its second year, the MS GAY & MS TS AUSTRLAIA pageant aims at discovering and developing new talents and providing platform to showcase their entertainment skills to the general public and not only within the gay community.

FAREWELL SPEECH OF MS CHELSEY MIKIMOTO – MS TS AUSTRALIA 2010

( NOTE: As Ms Chelsey Mikimoto, could not make it to the pageant to crown her successor, she sent us her farewell speech which was supposed to be read during the crowing of the new Ms Transexual Australia. However, due to the limited time we were not able to. Here is the full transcript of the farewell speech of Ms Chelsey Mikimoto, the first Ms Transexual Australia crowned in the year 2010 ….)

Since February 6, 2010, I have been honoured to wear the beautiful crown and carry the title of Miss Transsexual Australia.

The year has been nothing short of exciting. I was part of and attended many events, celebrations, fundraisers and shows. I travelled across Australia and Asia to help raise awareness for the transgender and transsexual community to be more accepted in today’s society. I have been part of more than half a dozen of successful cabaret productions in and outside Australia. I did photo, television and film shoots as well as media interviews. I have had the time of my life.

Among the events that stick out in my mind that I will always remember include meeting transsexual women who have made a difference in the lives of others. I have had opportunities abound this year through meeting many great people who continue to inspire me to do great things. I have been lucky to work with talented and creative minds who have supported me since day one, and I would not make it this far without each and everyone of them, some of you in the audience this evening.

To the pageant organisers, thank you for staging a pageant that recognises transsexuals. Thank you for helping me make this year all it could be. Thank you also to all the pageant’s sponsors and supporters. This great year couldn’t have been all it was without your support. Thank you all for making this such a fun year. Thank you all for helping me to grow as a transsexual woman.

I am excited about the future. I will always use my voice to help others, continuing to set an example for younger generations. This has truly been the time of my life, a year I will always remember fondly, and cherish all the memories.

I cannot thank you all enough for making my year of being Miss Transsexual Australia a reality and a melodic song. As I take my final walk as the reigning titleholder, I will always be Chelsey Mikimoto, Miss Transsexual Australia 2010.

Following a very successful and fully packed pageant last year, MS GAY & MS TS AUSTRALIA 2011 showcases the best among Australia’s pageant queens, transsexuals and crossdressers on February 5, 2011 (Saturday) starting at 8 pm at the Yarraville Club, 135 Stephen Street, Yarraville Victoria.

In a format mixed of the Victorian Secrets fashion parade and beauty pageant, twenty or more candidates will battle for the crowns and titles with their stunning costumes, talent, fierce attitude, wit and cheeky humour.

Last year’s winners Ms GAY- Kamira Holden, a Melbourne drag queen and Ms TS – Chelsey Mikimoto, international transgender showgirl, will crown this year’s winners who will be from among the candidates representing various clubs from Victoria, interstate and overseas.

The talent portion highlights the event as each candidate performs their unique talents – be it fire-eating, impersonation, drag number, exotic dancing and stand up comedy where the loudest cheering and screaming from fans and audience will be expected in the spirit of competition.

During the intermission, you can dance the night away, be entertained by local singers, dancers and performers. Food and drinks available at the venue.
